oh my

pixies, the strokes, goldfrapp, the ting tings, hot chip, surfer blood, scissor sisters, broken social scene, the drums, band of horses, passion pit, grizzly bear, kate nash, florence and the machine and like a zillion more beautiful amazing bands are playing at the splendour in the grass festival

this is one of the greatest contemporary lineups i have seen in my life, no joke

buuuuut tickets are $450, plus the airfares to get to queensland are approximately an extra $200.

i have twenty days until tickets go on sale.

unfortunately, due to financial matters and parents being mean, i can't go. at least there will be melbourne sideshows, it's the only thing letting me sleep at night :(

was the song before or after the movie was made? i always thought it was named after the movie :S

The song is from 1965, and the movie is from 1961. I always assumed it was named after the movie, but I'm not sure. It's one of those records I found years ago, and thought it would be good because of the label and song writer. I was right:). It should have been at least a minor hit, but it never charted.
